European Silver Fir (Abies alba)



The European Silver Fir (Abies alba) is a coniferous tree, growing up to 65 m. It occurs in the middle mountain belt up to an altitude of 1,200 – 1,400 m


The European Silver Fir is one of the most productive forestry species. It is suitable for park development as well.


Seeds are semi-moist. Before sowing they are soaked in water for 24 hours. Germination is low. Seeds are stored in hermetically sealed containers for a period between 2-3 months to up to 5 years at temperatures from -2°С, -4°С to up to -15°С, -18°С.
